I would get the achilles tang as your very last fish, they usually kill anything introduced after it.What sort of flow do you have,as achilles NEED strong heavy flow.He might be aggressive towards the white cheeked surgeonfish.
The tank just got ordered about a week ago so i should have it in about 3 weeks. I was thinking for flow 2 mp60 at start with 2 returns. This tank is going to be sps dominated so there is going to be a must for heavy flow.
Ok so ill qt from least aggressive to most 2 at a time, the achilles last , so what makes the achilles so hard to keep? Very prone to getting sick? or just a serial murderer? Is it worth it to get one?
It's a very nervous fish, prone to ich certainly, but also paces a lot and can be quite difficult to get eating. Not a fish for the beginner or novice. I don't think they are all necessarily 'murderers' - as with all things, depends a lot on the individual.
Sounds like it will be a beautiful tank. As far as the achilles, there is an achilles tang primer thread in the reef fish forum. Might take a read through that.
I wouldn't know as my biggest is a 60 at the moment haha, and it is freshwater! Will probably go back to saltwater soon, thinking of getting a 4 or 5 footer ;D
