this silly fish has been in qt for almost a week now. i have seen him exactly TWICE. he stays buried in the sand. now, i've been told (and i have taken this advice to heart) to NEVER dig him out or disturb him.

how the heck am i supposed to accomplish ttm if he stays buried all the time and i'm not supposed to bother him??

I had 2 in my 140 as my first fish. They both ate for a couple days and then one buried himself and I didn't see him for a few days. When he did surface again, he was dying and had popeye. The other is doing great and has doubled in size.

My guess would be something is wrong with him, I hope not, but that is what happened to 1 of mine.

he did come out yesterday for a split second. when he saw me approaching the tank, he dove back into the sand. he's moving at lightning speed. i would think if there was something seriously amiss, he would at least be lethargic...i dunno.

the first day he was in the tank, he was out all the time and even ate a little mysis. hmmm....

Hopefully he's ok, mine ate too for the first couple days and then disappeared for 4 or 5. I never saw him again until he came out and died.

Maybe yours is just a little twitchy :)

I don't think you will have much luck with TTM and wrasse that seek refuge in the sand. Do you have CP or cuprimine? The sand will have to diguarded obviously anyway or at least let to dry out for a few days between the TT. I wouldn't suggest digging the wrasse up either, that will just add stress to a already stressed fish. Are you using a bowl with sand in it for the TT?

i do have cupramine, yes. the qt is bare bottom except for a small pile of sand in the corner which is where he is staying.

i really think, at this point, i will just leave him be in the qt until he either decides to show himself or whatever. i don't have anyy plans to add any more to my dt at this point so i'll just wait him out for a while. :)

LOL, yeah, definitely twitchy!
