Hey folks! I recently purchased 2 Wyoming Whites that came from Sustainable Aquatics and they are a couple of pretty incredible specimens. They are identical in every way and are a proven breeding pair. I intend to raise the babies once they start spawning in my own tank, but I have a question: What kinds of babies will they produce?
I have no idea if these can be traced back to the C-Quest line or not, but I did a quick Google search and found that most WW pairs don't produce a very high percentage of pure WW babies. I'm totally okay with that, seeing as my LFS needs a local clownfish breeder no matter what kinds of babies my WW's might produce. However, the LFS owner gave me a steal of a price on the pair hoping I'd be able to produce lots more pure WW's.
But does anyone here have any knowledge on the matter or experience breeding WW's? Some people say they will produce picasso's, DaVinci's, regular Ocellaris, fancy whites, and snowflakes. I'd be fine with 5% WW's if I got all those kinds of clownfish in my future clutches!
Here's an awful picture of the pair I took at the LFS today. I won't be taking them home for a couple weeks. BTW, they're a lot bigger than they look in the pic:
