quick question about overflow plumbing.im prepared to put in 2 seperate pipes but was sitting here looking at it tring to think of a reason why i should not just t the 2 into 1,what would be some pro's and con's to doing this.quick update for every one, we have ordered the ro/di and sump baffles are in.quick build of a canopy and all the rock and coral we have had brewing in a tote since march will have a new home.cabinet doors are on the to do list.

There are a lot of options for your second overflow.
I've seen them run straight into skimmers, reactors, fuge, etc...

I really like that second pic with both pipes connecting like that, looks 'cleaner'. I'm not an expert with plumbing so someone correct me if my thinking is wrong, but wouldn't it be better to have them T into a larger diameter pipe? Seems like using the same size would restrict the flow to what a single pipe would yield. course another thought woudl be to stick a ball valve on one and use that to feed a fuge or some of the other stuff Lytehouse mentioned.

The second does visually look cleaner, but seems to defeat the purpose of having a back up if one clogs, unless you are assuming the clog could only be in the tank itself.
Adams thought about a bigger pipe gives you options down the road if you decide to use both.
I would still go seperate to keep options open.
But I'm no plumbing guru

yes the 2 into 1 would be assuming any clog would happen before the t and as far as bigger diameter after the t i would if they were both running at the same time.i did not put the 2 ball valves on for the picture or the other unions,it will come apart in 4 sections for routine cleaning if i do the 2 into 1.the right would be the main o/f and the left the emergency with ball valves after each and unions in place were i could use pipe brushes easily.i think ill do the 2 into 1 with the assumption that being able to easily clean them on a regular schedule i will be alright.still open to ideas about this .my thinking is that if anything does or could happen it would be a fish pluggingthe durso

If you decide you need a booster pump for water pressure,

Ok this picture will help you understand Minco water. If you don't know, now you will. Our RO/DI unit bare gets 30 psi so a booster is for sure something we need

uh... how much water did you make to get the sediment filter that dirty already lol. reminds me of my tap water (I wont' use my ro/di since I run through filters wwwaaaayyyyy too fast and it ends up costing me more than buying di from the lfs. I also feel your pain on low water pressure...trying to stand under the 'trickle' of warm water during cold winters really sucks lol.

wow that sediment filter is nasty. you might think about doing like i do and buy 3-4 sediment filters for every set of carbon blocks. that way you can change those cheap things out and throw away. then you don't have to replace the more expensive carbons and DI resin quite as fast.

lol i hear ya on that we have decided to order about a dozen for when we fill the tank up and i think i may drop the used ones off at the water office here.
