HI there, Im thinking about purchasing this item

And would like to know if it can operate 24" 20watt NO tubes?

It says it would do 36" and 48" tubes but nothing on the 24"

Does it have water proof endcaps?

Hi,

They can only run 36 or 48" NO lamps. I don't really undersstand why it won't run smaller, but it has a big red stamp that says DO NOT USE normal lamps less then 36".

On the end caps, they are not water proof, but they look very water resistant, pretty decent looking for a packaged kit.

Welcome.

You could go with a PFO VHO Retro 2 which will run any NO or VHO bulb up to 48", but probably over kill on price, unless you wanted to increase your wattage and go with VHO tubes instead.

I just want an actinic 03 supplement for extra coral flourescence, I was thinking also in a CSL smartlite retro but it comes with a 50/50 bulb and I want an actinic 03 bulb only.

Is there any way that I could get an actinic 03 bulb instead of the 50/50(10k-Actinic03) that comes with the CSL smartlite retro kit? the reason Im leaning towards the CSL retro is because of its cheaper price of $64 instead of $100+ with any other retro kit...

Sure, we could repackage that kit with either a 7100K blue or a true actinic 03.

If you order online, put in customer comments that you want to switch or if phone just mention to sales staff and they'll take care of you.

the 7100K is a CSL brand bulb, the true actinic 03 is a private label brand. Pretty much all are made in the same factory though, just have different labels printed on them.
