Question: Would Low High SG Kill Zoa's? We went away on Vacation and our Top Off System Failed & Did not Top Of The Water. We Added More Di To The System to Fix the SG But the Zoa's are Not Wanting To Open UP? Anyone Have Any Ideas! All Levels are Correct as far as CAL, DKH etc goes. They did not Melt Or Go Away they are just not open, do you think they will over time? The Acro's and Mushrooms etc are fine though. Also we have no fish and there are over 50 colonies of zoa's so I don't think it's a nudi or SD. Thanks...

1.025 is close to normal seawater (normal seawater is 35ppm salinity which is 1.025-1.026 specific gravity around normal reef temperatures). What device are you using to check the specific gravity?

We just use the standard plastic hydrometer, it has always worked in the past. The point I am getting at is, the SG went up when the top off system failed. I am not righting to figure out if I reading the SG right, I know that it is correct we have tested our unit against a standard refractometer and it's only .5 points off. Please give advice on the zoa's not the sg. Do you think they will recover, all other species are fine other than the zoa's. thanks....

Like obi-dad said, your SG is where it should be. Unless the zoo's start turning white or clear, you should be fine. They probably closed up because they are not used to the SG they are at.

They are not clear, but I am just wondering if they will come back open since we have fixed the SG problem.
