question, my LED lights are dying

Back in October of 2011, I bought 3 Led fixtures for my system . One just burned out today, lost all my white led's in it. Blues still work. Another fixture, half the blues went out.
Is there someplace that can repair them or are they a lost cause? I'm ****ed cause I paid $ 800 for these things and they didn't even last 4 years.

If its anything like what I experienced with a super cheap par 38 bulb, saltwater + metal = rust... I had all my blues gone since pretty much day one I got the bulb( previously owned).

For tech savy people, a little DIY of replacing a couple rusted out or broken pieces and its good as new.

Reef bliss generation 1 if I remember correctly. I had gotten it from that crazy guy that owns Rare reef in Boynton beach that always sold “Fire” LOL. Picked these up at his frights and frags show in Orlando 3 years ago. I think his name was Russ

Well I'm far from you. I'm in pines. I would only bring one fixture to me to check if they are repairable. I can't find any info on them. Do you have a link ?

GbGreensun made them. I don’t think this model is available anymore. They are made in China. I contacted Reefbliss and they don’t carry them anymore.

Each led is wired in series like the old christmas tree lights where if one bulb is unplugged or burned out in your case, you will lose all of the other leds in the series. Sounds like your fixture has all whites in one series and all blues in the other series. So in your fixture you probably have one bulb burned out. If you have a digital volt meter with the diode checker, you can test each one of those bulbs individually, they will probably light up dimly especially if they are the 3 watt version. The one that doesnt light up obviously is burned out, just replace the one and it will probably be back, good as new. Just make sure you replace the led in the correct orientation because leds are directional components. You can either order leds online or go to b&r electronics by 87 ave and 128/9 street in miami

How big are they as you stated its a 2 man job to get them off? Mind posting a pic of them and posting so i can tell if the led's are actually available? Are they the 3 watt version leds?

It’s the top of the tank that needs two people, actually maybe 3 to remove. It’s heavy and large. Here are photos of the lights. I don’t remember what watts they are. Maybe 3, I don’t remember.

Hey streetjudge, i was looking into finding replacement bulbs for your fixture. More than likely you have the 3 watt version led. To be certain, can you take a pic of the rating plate on the fixture and post it? The 3. Watt leds themselves look like this. http://mksale.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/06/หลอด-LED-3-Watt-180-200-Lumen-Warm-White-Cool-White.jpg. See if you can find a supplier online for the blue and whites and we could go from there. If we can't find them, there would be no reason for us to link up unless you want to go have a beer.

It looks like u can take the lights off without removing the canopy. Just put a lid or something to cover your tank and take out the 2 screws going into the fixture from the brackets
