question on lighting

My new tank is 6 feet long and needs new lights. Any suggestions on what or where? I have no sps as of now but would like to get some. Right now I have a small 2inch clam and 1foot wide H.crispa nem. I was thinking about getting 3 175 watt pendants, but wasnt sure if I needed actinics or not.

I have 3 x 175W halides + 2 160W VHO atinic and they work for me, however I do wonder if 250W would be better as I've managed to turn some cool looking corals into shades of grey & brown. =(

I would look at 250s on e-ballasts I like the reeflux10k if you want more blue reeflux12k. I only use atincs to view the tank longer as I only run halides for 4-6hrs.

I would go with 3-250s ran on e-ballasts. It gives you an option to hang pendants or canopy. These lights will also allow you to keep something you may want in the future. You do not have to suppliment with actinics. I would put a 10 or 14K in the middle flanked by 20K.

You could get away with Lumenarcs on a six foot tank. 250w 10 or 12k would be more than sufficient.
