Question on Profilux Control & firmware updates

Hello there,

I've got a quick question for you guys--I'm about to install the PLM-USB card in my Profilux--firmware version is 3.08. Do I need to use the matching version of the Profilux Control program for the install, or can I use the latest version? And when I do the firmware updates--do I install the latest Profilux Control program first and then do the firmware update? I'm hoping this is making some sense! If you guys can help me out I'd really appreciate it! Thanks in advance!

Hiya

Installing the PLM-USB does not have an effect on what software or version of firmware you are running just make sure you are using the latest driver that has to be loaded to your pc first.

XP Driver
http://www.aquariumcomputer.com/Download/PL2303_XP2KME98Driver_Setup.exe

Vista Driver
http://www.aquariumcomputer.com/Download/PL2303_Vista_Installer.exe

Once done and you then connect the profiLux to your pc watch in the bottom right of the screen it should tell you what port the driver has been installed on, this helps when you set up the connection. Any problems doing that just email me at sales@aqua-digital.com

Going from V3.08 to V4.0 is a bit of a mouthful so i will break this down for you

FIRST - READ the manual on doing updates, there is a very important step by step proceedure

1. Make sure you have V3.08 ProfiLux control software loaded.

2. Upgrade ProfiLux firmware to V4.05. (follow the manual)

3. Once done, uninstall V3.08 ProfiLux control software.

4. Now install V4.05 ProfiLux control software.
