How to update Euroquatics A1/A1P

Just curious (I'm not the most tech savvy) but, why are you connecting through your IP address? I just connect my laptop to Euronet and then open the app on the laptop.

If you find upgrade parts, please let me know. I'd love to upgrade mine if I can figure it out :ROFLMAO:

I still can't believe you were so lucky to get a couple A1P's, that is awesome.

I am doing the same. I log in through the default Wi-Fi of the fixture and then access its web interface through its 10.0.0.0 address. When using the app on your phone, it can connect via Wi-Fi or the device's access point (Wi-Fi of the fixture). I didn't have my fixture connected to my home network yet so I decided to access my fixture from the access point on the mobile app. To do this, you have to connect your phone to the fixture's access point (Euronet, etc.) and then go into the Wi-Fi settings and change it from DHCP to static and assign the fixture's IP address to 10.0.0.20 and the gateway to 10.0.0.10. Once you do that, then the app will see the fixture. Something happened, though, and the app wouldn't connect to the fixture, and the fan turned on to full speed with no lights on, and the fan would not stop. I could no longer see the access point on my computer and could not connect to the web interface. I ended up having to factory default the fixture and start over. I got it back up and running and paired a second fixture to the master, which seems to work great. Once the master changes settings, then the paired devices will mirror the master.

I will try and connect the master fixture to my home network and then try accessing it through the app. I am hoping this works because using an app to change user programs, moods, etc., is easier than connecting to its web interface, imo.

Do you have an Android phone? That may be my confusion. I have an iPhone and there is no longer an app available for iPhones.

I have the android app somewhere but as I recall it only worked before firmware update. No big deal, it's exactly the same interface.

Yes. I have an Android. I mean, is there really any other option? .....:ROFLMAO:

Uh oh. Maybe that is why it went nuts. I will try one more time with the WIFI and see what happens.

I hope this is because I have storm mode enabled. Went down to check in the tank and the lights were flickering. After a few minutes it stopped. If there’s something in the manual about what storm mode looks like, I’m not finding it and a very quick internet search I came up empty.
Must have been light storm mode??? Put it in thunderstorm mood and it was doing the same as last night, just more intense and frequent than last night.

How are you guys hanging these? I'm looking at some 80/20 t-slot rails possibly to make a long light rack. Trying to get ideas first. I'm not going to use the eye bolts that came with the units. I will probably pick up some M5 screws and slide them in the tracks. Not quite sure yet.

Great question. I was planning on using the eye bolts and hanging them in a canopy. If I go T-slot then I am looking to see what you all come up with.

I updated the 5 fixtures that came in to the latest firmware. I paired them all to the master and set the master to my wireless network. It works great with the app. You have to still create your programs, moods, etc through the web interface, but the app makes it easy to change between moods and programs quickly.

Does anyone else notice a high-pitched noise coming from the leds? As I increase power, I hear the noise from every fixture. I can no longer hear it when the fans kick on, and it isn't an issue, just something to get used to.

I used the eye bolts that came with them and simply hung the with decorative black chain.

I know @kharmaguru 3D printed brackets for his.

No noise that I can hear but, I have tinnitus and my tank is noisy😉

As Sean noted, the heat sinks in these must be something else because the fans rarely come on. When they do, it’s just for a few seconds.

They are built really well, I wonder why the company went out of business?

One of my fixtures has a buzz. It's only the blues and if I crank it to 100% it goes away. I read somewhere that old capacitors can cause that. I can't say it really bothers me with all the other noise I have going on.

I’m wondering the same. Maybe we should all pool together and do a start up to bring them back🤣
The key will be bringing the tech up to date (but not so wasteful in the spending category) and maintaining a low cost (I think this is the difficulty).

I say this as Gavita (the parent company) is a leading horticulture lighting company. Looking at the wayback machine, it appears they primarily marketed through Europe (hence the name) and Marine Depot and went out of business sometime around 2020, shortly before Marine Depot was acquired by BRS.

That said I’d haven’t the slightest idea on how to begin bringing them back lol

That's probably what it is. I can't hear it when the fan kicks on.
