Question on Randy's 2 part

Using the 2 part now, my Ca is at about 400, and alk. is low, about 2 mEq/L, can I just add the Alk. part to bring it up? If so should I add it over time (a few days) or just add it to get it balanced, about 4mEq/L? Thanks in advance,,,

You can dose the alkalinity up with baking soda dissolved in water. The 2-part alkalinity solution might cause an unpleasant pH change if you're using the baked baking soda version. I'd add it in two doses, just because tank volume can be a problem to determine. This calculator will help with a dose:

My recommendation is to still use both parts equally. Boosting alkalinity to 4 meq/L will only boost calcium to 440 ppm.
