Question on Starting Program

All corals doing fine, even added a few wild Australian frags and they are doing well. Not sure why the Red Dragon died.

Yes. I have still held off from using phos minus, carbon, and zeo. Im going to Italy in a week. Might start them up in small dosage when I get back. Im a little nervous with my wife continuing the AF program while I'm away.

Considering its simplified in a drop or two of each, it's probably one of the easiest programs out there! Have fun in Italy you lucky SOB

Corals are still growing like crazy, but a very pale. Still doing 2 drops of ProBio and NP pro in the morning and 1 drop on the foods. Should I up to the recommended 2 drops on food.

Marc, yes increase drops on foods with pale corals, what is NO3 and PO4, if very low, you could drop Pro Bio S and NP Pro to 1 drop. My tank is recommended with 5 drops each per day, I run 3, my tank is inherently low in nutrients, so a normal dose is not necessary for where I want my colors. Hope that makes sense, with any Probiotic based system, observance and understanding of how the products work will accelerate you success. Glad to hear the growth is coming along, let's get them colors too :)
Cheers,

That would make sense, also test for K Potasium as this can create pale colours shows up first in Montipora

Potassium is actually high, 450.
P04- .04
Nitrate-0

I started to dose nitrates with stump remover. But tank sucks it out immediately. Nitrates at .25.
I'm affAid to drop pro bio and no pro, don't want po4 to get higher, and wouldn't that mess with bacteria population.

I did increase all other products to Rec dose but still very pale colors.

Any recommendations?

Careful of KNO3, it might add nitrates, but also adds K, and increased levels of K in a ULNS can cause fading and sometimes the same appearance as corals that look starved. Is there any reason you do not want to raise NO3 by simply feeding more to fish? Not only are you keeping healthy fat fish this way, but you get additional coral feeding through fish waste, this will also increase nutrients. Just a thought.... :)

That would raise p04. Not tying to get cyano like some get with this system. Have a potassium test kit coming in on the 9th. Going to get it tested at lfs tomorrow. What potassium level is considered too high?

Bump for help, I stopped dosing nitrates. I got them up to 1 and saw no difference in coral colors. Could it be potassium at 450 or the tank needs more aqua forest supplements.

Marc,
Every time you dose KNO3 you are also raising K. 450 is not a deal breaker, but it is high, and you can see similar signs of stress like you would with alk shifting, particularly with low nutrients. Pretty much faded corals, and sometimes burnt tips. This is why I do not recommend anyone use this to raise nutrients, instead, get more organics in the water via fish feeding. 380-410 on K is good, so you are a bit high, could be your issue. Having low nutrients is a good thing if you feed, but a bad thing if you don't. Cheers!

Hello Marc,
I alternate between LRS Reef Frenzy and PE Mysis. I do not use any dry food in my tank, my fish are spoiled :) Cheers!
