Question on tank warranty

I purchased a spectrum 120 gallon 5 years ago. I built my own stand. A few nights ago the tank started leaking from the corner. They denied my warranty claim since I am using a DIY stand. Does anyone have previous experience with this. I know many people build their own stands. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

^this. Most manufacturers require you to use their stand or the warranty is void.
