Question on Tunze addition

I have a 300g tank with (1) Tunze Wave Box. Not real pleased with amount of water movement. Should I add another wave box or couple controlable Streams?

Thanks

If you do not have much "point source" flow such as closed loop etc.. would go for Streams. What other flow do you have?

Keep in mind Waveboxes are not ment to be the only flow or main flow in the tank. It is ment to supplement existing flow or main flow. What is the dimensions of the tank? If it is quite wide you may not be getting the wave that would be expected as well.

The tank is 8' long 24" wide 30" high

I have a closed loop that has 8 returns on a Sequence SW5800 and the return is from a Sequence SW 4300 that is the return for the 300g, 125g, and 120g.

Thanks

How high is the wave you are getting? when you say you are not ahppy with the flow do you mean overall in the tank, or do you mean the wave as I would not expect it to currently be more than 1"? From my, though somewhat limited hands on with the wavebox, I would suspect with a tank of that size an added Wavebox Extension might work out for you if you are happy with the flow from the closed loop and was hoping for more of a wave

The wave is about 1/2 in height.

Need to add some extra water movement too. But want a bigger wave too.

I assume you have it dialed in, I know some have had trouble not passing up the "sweet spot" as far as pump frequency on the wavebox. With the Extention you should be able to kick up that wave a pretty good amount and might make you happy with both the wave and with the bit of extra flow.

Jarhead (Steve) might have some added insite as he loves his waveboxes

quickest would be fro short tanks yours i would expect to be on a "much" longer pulse. If you did not already when you change the pulse you move the dial in TINY increments and let it sit for a min or two and see if the wave has changed. As someone told me a when I set my first up if you can see the dial move it is almost too much at once, it is easy to pass the perfect spot. I would expect your frequncy to be around 1 second maybe a bit more.
