Question on TUNZE NANO - Help on purchase.

I've tried looking at pictures and googling and researching but I have not found a certainty prior to purchase and wanted to ask the sponsors here.

How exactly does this mount? I read it was magnetic. Is it possible to hang? I have 3/8" thickness.

How deep does it need to be submereged.

Are there any upgrades or foreseeable products for the TUNZE NANO DOC?

Thanks.

The measurement says 4.9" x 4.4" for the 9050. Do you think it can fit there?

Are you refering to a 9005 DOC skimmer? It will be tight but should just fit. How big is the tank? though you may have trouble hanging it with such little space to get the water level right. But it you use a 6080 magnet it might work out just right

the 9002 will definately fit and yes comes with a magnet that will hold it to 3/8" without a problem

Yeah I noticed the NANO 9002 about 4.4 x 2 right, but I have about 70 gallons so decided to use the 9005. I can raise my water level higher. I know I have to mount the waste cup above though.

I am looking at the 9005, the dimensions say 4.4 x 4.9, Think it'll work?

Thanks.

HOw much water do I need for the 9005?

I think it will fit. I am not near one to measure for sure but I cannot see why it wouldn't. It needs to be in 9.5 - 11.5 inches of water

I see. I am just afraid the measurements of the specs off when I actually get it, seeing everything is so close.

Hmmm

someone on here would have one they could likely measure for you, if not Roger could likely confirm on Monday

Can you ask rodger to confirm?

I am curious about the magnet, how does it fit or work?
Will there be any affects on the pump motor?

Roger will be on to post later today he does not post on weekends. The magnets work well and the wet side locks onto tabs on the skimmer body. They do not effect operation

It should fit but it will be mounted with the magnet on the side wall, it will just barely fit, it measures just a hair under 4.5" wide and about 5" deep with the magnet holder attached.

Do you suggest I use the magnet? Or would just the OEM hanger be more better w/ the space?

Magnet mounting as in back of the tank or in the other chamber? I'm pretty flexible I suppose, but i would have to position my skimmer in only 1 way right? Seeing my measurements.

Thanks

You could use the hangers as well, the dimensions are really about the same either way, the rails are almost as thick as the magnet holder.

You were talking about the 9005 right?

Hi,

I have a cube ish tank and got the 9005 in the chamber.

I submerge it near the blue line but it seems like it's nothing more than a power head blowing inside the tunze, so I am now running it a bit below the blue line.

However, something just doesn't seem right. Is the air line, foam inside supposed to be submerged or left protected within the collection cup?

I don't really get this either. I have not way of fitting an extension riser. What exactly is wrong?

Is the tunze pump screwy? No foam nor bubble.

The airline is likely disconnected from the pump, please take out the pump and check it, you won't be able to use the extension kit in the space you have and you do not need it if it is submerged to the line. Do you have a photo of how you have it installed? You should follow the instructions for in tank installation.

I got it plopped back in. Does it usually come out like that/ I see the foam ish now though my bioload is minimal.

Thanks.
