Question: Raising SG after Hypo is complete

Guys,

My fish are in QT going through the 6 week Hypo process. I took 3 days to lower the SG to 1.009, just to be safe.

Question: After the 6 week process is complete, and assuming no visible signs of our enemy Mr. Ick....how much time should I take to raise the SG back to normal?

Do I take 3 days as per when I commenced the treatment, or should I raise the SG faster, or in fact slower.

No sure....do not want to make any mistakes. Please advise.

lowering the salinity shouldn't take any more than 2 days...also, did you start the 6 week process AFTER you saw the last spot on the fish??? raising the salinity should go pretty slow.... it should be no more than .002 per day. so when you're ready to raise it, you can go from 1.009-1.011, in one day!

you should take anywhere from 3-7 days to raise the salinity

salinity should be raised slowly so as not to shock the fish and can potential kill it if you raise it too fast.

ok guys, thanks. I raise it over 7 days

I started the 6 week "clock" when they went in the QT tank. I guess I now need to reset it to the last spot, which took a week in hypo to disappear completely.
