Was just wondering if a 36 is still considered a namo-or if there is a number makes it bigger than a nano???? I have a 12 nano--just got a 36 up and running and was just wondering? So your saying that I can considered my 90 a nano??lol
nah, its not a nano in my book. Nano stops at 20 for me. Anything bigger than that (up until like 150) is just considered normal/average/whatever.
a long time ago it may have been considered quite small because most people wouldnt attempt a reef unless it was big. But now with a lot of this new equipment/knowledge, smaller tanks are very easy and VERY common.

There arent any set guidelines for nanos or normal, or large tanks. a 30 gallon tank may seem normal to some, but if it was a 30 SPS it could be considered a NANO. I have a 3g aquarium with zoanthids only in it, i consider that a nano. I have a 30 gallon with only anemones and an octo... i dont think its a nano. I wouldnt really call any nanocubes( nanocube, biocube) a nano untill its decked out with coral. IMO a nano occurs when you take the coral and livestock density of a large tank and cram it into a small successful tank... thats a nano. anything else is just a dinky tootsy aquarium
well no we don't have a whale--yet--but we do have tangs, file fish, 2 firefish-2 perks. zoos, mushrooms, 1 clam, leathers etc--but that is all in the 90-
my 36 just got set up- have got a couple fish and a few other things.
