Questions about controllers?

I am wondering if anyone knows of a controller that can be used through a computer interface. I am currently in the process of aquiring a retail tropical fish store in NY, and I am coming from a computer background. I want to test out products that can be used to control the aquarium through a computer interface, any and all help is much appreciated.
