Questions about my new Stream 6100's

Hi Roger,

Picked up a set of 6100's and a 7094 microcontroller and have a few questions.
FYI: My tank is 96x30x30.

I am wonder if my ideal current situation can be achieved with this setup. IMO the ideal current setup is to have say 1 of the 6100's at either end of the tank. Se the controller to pulse the left side pump from 30-100% for only ~10 seconds and then shut down completely for 30 seconds. Then pulse the right side in the same way, from 30-100% and then sut down and repeat the cycle.

1, can I configure anything like this?
2, I was able to set it to switch off from side to side but could not create a delay between the cycle.
3, would this mode be too harsh on the pumps??? I tried it for a few hours but remember someone saying that these are not meant to be powered off and on more than a few times a day.

Comments: Using the normal method of 1 pump at either end of the tank is not very effectual IMO since the pulsing effect is simultaneous it creates a mashing effect in the center of the tank and either end gets nothing.
I have tried both down one end but the current at the other end of the tank was nothing to write home about.

You could use tide mode, as outlined in the manual you will have one pump in each end socket. This will enable you to set an interval of as short as 1min, in general this is best done at intervals of a few hours. Do not try to use anything other than the multicontroller to do your programming as this will cause pump damage and is not covered by warranty. The multicontroller is able to slowly ramp up the pumps to prevent drive unit damage and no other controller can accomplish this interface. My preferred would be to use constant mode with the one pump turned down to 30% while the other is running at 100%, then they would alternate.

The 7094 has a mode that will turn 1 pump on for a short duration and then turn it off and then start up the 2nd pump and then turn it off and repeat the cycle. It will alternate back and forth between pumps and when 1 pump is on the 2nd one is off. If the controller has this mode can you confirm that this would be OK for these pumps?

I played with the tide setting but the idea of a simple 1 way blast for several hours does not appeal to me.

Yes, you use tide mode and set your interval switch to 1-7min and knob set to one minute. It is Ok for the pumps to switch this fast, but nothing faster is possible.
