Hey guys I was wondering if a maroon clown would be a good choice for a new tank. I have 130 gl bowfront and really love the maroon but am a little skeptical because I have heard of their aggressive nature. The only othe fish I have in mind is the elbi angelfish and I am wondering are they compatable . Another thing I was wondering if do eventually decide to get a maroon should it be one of my last additions ? Thanks for the advice mike

Is there ever a last addition? Seriously though, Maroons are more territorial than downright aggressive. Do you plan on having an anemone of some sort? I would add the bigger fish last, not that it really matters with those two fish. Great starter fish though as they are incredibly hardy.

You "should" be fine. It will really depend on the fish. I have a pair of Gold Stripe Maroons and they get along with 2 chromis and a Bicolor Angel in a 40 breeder. I have had them for almost 3 yrs. and never witnessed momma going after anybody. I would think that 130gals. would be plenty of room.

I have very agressive fish in my 180, and no agression! Go figure. Purple Tang, Sailfin Tang, canary damsel, blue damsel, purple pseudo, pair of maroon clowns. Solving fish agression is similar to solving a chemical equation, you just have to balance the sides.
