I need to know the lighting and flow needs of candycane corals, maze brain, and moon brain and frog spawn. How high up should each be placed? Do they like direct flow? Should they be shaded? I have a 20 gallon lit with a 150watt 10k metal halide pendant.

All of those corals you mentioned will do okay in 'moderate' light - of course they can be kept in higher lighting conditions, however chances are that you will need to acclimate them to such conditions. In your tank, you can place them anywhere except directly under your halide ... otherwise they'd melt. If you do put them closer to the halide ... it could not hurt to acclimate them.
In regards to flow, no coral likes to be blasted by laminar flow. Chaotic flow is always more favorable over direct laminar. If you notice any of the corals are not opening, then they may be being hit with too much flow. Just use your best judgement.
