i lost a small clown the other day couldnt find him. then today i found that guy. could he be a fish killer?

Yes they can and will kill fish, just ask my Emerald crab that is living in my sump.

You can tell the emeralds by the flat spot on the large claws. I don't trust any crabs other than a scarlet hermit.

Yes it is a mithrax crab ie Emerald crab. They come in a few different colors. Mine ate two Royal Gramma's. With the first one I just thought the fish died, but the second was was an amazing fish always out eating come to the glass to see me, then one morning I saw my huge emerald crab eating it in the RG's sleeping spot. :hammer: I grabbed him and to the sump it went.

I personally like crabs. I think he would be perfectly happy in your sump.

I really think a fish tank sump is what a crab would consider to be utopia.
