Vodka dose works great and its cheap!

No way do not run vodka on your tank. Your remora is not powerful enough to oxygenate your tank, vodka will do more harm.

Whichever you route you choose just remember to pick a phosphate remover that is Granular Ferric Oxide (this is iron rust). The older aluminmum based ones suck.

I own a via aqua poly reactor. Its a great product for 35 dollars. The cheap chinese pump lasted me 1 year until it gave out.

Just remember to start slowly with phosphate removers, if you remove your phosphates too fast your sps will be super stressed and rtn or stn.

What makes you think your phospates are high? Doesnt' hair algae grow off of nitrates as well? I would beef up your skimmer.

I run a TLF for my GFO and a Aqua Via for my GAC
I use TLF products for both GFO and GAC because they have gotten the best reviews as far as not leaching phoshates back into the water

The downside is cost the Two Little Fishes stuff is spendy (other than the reactor which I highly recomend) has anyone used the stuff from Bulkreef supply? is it any good? does it leach phoshates back into the water?
