quick question about a acro i have

ok so about 2 months ago I bought a pink tabling acro frag. as I was looking at my corals and I noticed that at the very base of my pink table and there was a very bright green base. is pink tables suppose to have a green base? I thought red palnets are the ones with the green base with red polyps and branches. correct me if im wrong guys.

I have seen red planets that are almost pink in color when thrown under enough light. Corals do come in all color combinations though. If it was a frag of a wild caught coral, it could be changing color due to a change in conditions from where it was harvested. It could also be that you are just now getting enough base to see what the color of the base portion of the coral is. Or it could just be adjusting from whatever parameters it was used to in the store, or wherever it came from to what's in your tank.

I'm am unaware of any rule that states pink tabling acro's cannot have green bases though Sounds like a nice looking coral. Do you have an pictures.

before the green happened the base was whitish and only the tips was red\pink(that's how it was when I bought it from a local friend). now the pink\red as darkend and the green came along too. I love how it looks.

I cant say this is true or not, but some say, red=more light/ green=less light

lol. I did not see that before. I have a 250w halide 14k phinex bulb and its brand new been on the tank for almost 3 weeks now. I did put it lower in the tank as the guy I bought it from has leds and I didn't want to shock the crap out of it
