Quick Question

Ok, so my nitrites and ammonia finally went to none, so I did a water change to lower the nitrate level. It didnt lower it much(because I was doing the test wrong.. put 2ml instead of 1ml in the vial..reading DOES help) so I decided to change the water again. Same thing happened so I changed the water again.. and then again, and now that Im doing the tests right it is finally lowering off. My question is that did I do too many water changes in too little time.. and will this mess up the balance in my tank.

No problem. The bacteria that will control nitrogen are growing on the rock and sand. Very few are in the water column.
