Quick SPS lighting question

If I were to put a 24'' Marineland Series 150 HQI and 4 24 watt T5 HO over a 60 gallon cube (24'' by 24'' by 24'') would I have enough light to sustain SPS and clams etc. with enough light?

Thanks everyone in advance!

250Wt would be better for a 24" depth. You could still put the SPS at the high points in the tank using a 150wt. 250Wt would give you a lot more freedom though.

Should do just fine. I take it the cube is 24Hx24Wx25D?

I run 2 x 250w MH on my 90g with 2 110w VHO's, I have a couple different acros on the sand doing great.

150w mh with 4 t5 bulbs is plenty over a 60.

Really? I was thinking that wouldn't penetrate deep enough after the advice I've heard. If I went 250 would that be too much or not?

Which way should I go? 150 HQI watt with 4 T5's or 250 watt HQI with 2 T5's

FWIW, if you are keeping only SPS and clams, go the 250w mh and 2 T5's. If however, you are like me, and you s.o. decides they want a LPS and are in love with it, you will want the lower light areas for that. I have a 150w MH and 2x65 cf and my sps frags still grow well on the sand. Depends on what you plan to have. Yes, you can put SPS anywhere with the 250w, but that limits other corals you may want (some chalice's like lower light too). HTH,

It seems like they're are two sides to this situation. I think I'll have to start a poll and if you like please vote!
