Just wanted to quickly say thanks to everyone who contributes to this forum.
I had a maxima which over the past 8+ weeks was showing signs of problems including a pinched mantle. After reading several past threads on the subject, I decided to try do two things which I believe saved its life.
1. I started agressively feeding phytoplankton. The clam is greater then 3 inches but wanted to make sure he was getting plenty. I did this for two weeks prior to no. 2.
2. Completed a 20 minute fresh water dip.
Within days after the dip it looked back to normal.
THANKS!
