quiet one pump not that quiet! Why?

Try cleaning it. Could be something lodged in the impellar housing. Is it a humming noise, or a vibrating noise, or a rattling noise. This would help diagnose the problem. Try to be more specific in your posts.

I purchased a new 4000 - very very loud and high vibration. I have read other threads where people love them. I returned mine and bought an Eheim 1262, quiet beyond belief.
