Quietest pump?

I currently have a mag7 running my closed loop with a SQWD, but I am not too happy with the noise from the mag7.

What pump would be the run the quietest. This is a hang on back CL and the pump is set on a platform screwed onto the back of the stand.

yes they will... i have a t4, and they are completely silent.. im talking you wont know its on silent.. like if you have any bubbles in your piping you will hear that, but no pump... i have a quiet one 3000, and its louder than the t4 i hear my mrc mr2 injector but no pump... i love those pumps

Lucky it's not a "save the marriage" problem, just a headache problem.

You guys have a link for someone who sells that pump?

Ocean Runner 2500 from Drs Foster & Smith. Much quieter and more energy efficient even than an Eheim at less than half the cost. They are from Aqua Medic which is one of the oldest names around.

I have an Ocean Runner 2500 coming on Tuesday. Replacing a Sedra. Didn't need as big of a return. The 2500 runs on a lot less electricity as well.

If I get it installed this week, I will let you know how it works.

Poseidon Titanium Aquarium Water Pumps t4 i had one and its really quiet you can't even tell its running, and that's the truth.

Velocity T4 is by far the quietest pump on the market. it is absolutely silent. I have to touch it to see if it is running.

Would the Poseiden Titanium pump be enough for a 175 gallon tank? i have a pump right now and its way way way too loud! if you say they are that quiet, i will probably get one, but will it have enough power for my tank?

What from your sump to your tank because you dont need alot of flow

Do they only come with the barb fitting.

no, they do come in threaded (i think) but are very hard to find.
If you want to use it for a CL and not a return, I dont know if its enough for a 175.
Put it like this, I am using a T4 with a scwd to two outlets on a 36" tank, and I wish it was bigger.

Whenever someone ask the question "which pump is the quietest?" It's always the Eheim and the OR (from the submersibles that is) and I always thought it was in that order, I was under the impression that the Eheim's were quieter than the OR's but the OR's were a cheaper alternative. Is this correct? Has anyone owned both and can speak from experience.?
thanks
Felix

I had an OR, and its not really noticible, but it has a slight hum/rattle in sump. I put some neoprene under it and that solved my issue. but for external... T4 all the way.

i run an eheim 1260 for my return and a mag 9.5 on my skimmer. the eheim is quieter no question. actually i'm thinking of swapping my mag for a compariable eheim to run my skimmer.

My OR 2500 didn't show up today (Fedex hasn't updated the tracking since March 1). The review will have to wait...
