Quoyi parrotfish reef safe?

Well, they aggregate in the wild but I don't know if that's predictive of captive behavior.

When I've seen them in the Caribbean it's usually with the same species of parrot. Of course, who knows what that translates to in a closed system.

So has anyone kept multiple parrotfish in the same tank? We have the S. rivulatus, now properly Id'ed, and apparently when we had three they bickered, I was wondering what people thought of adding a quoyi in with it.

BTW, have you checked out HBH spirulina pellets? No other pellet food makes my MI's dorsal filament grow faster, and from the research I've done, it has the highest spirulina content of any pellet/flake food. My quoyi loves them too.

You guys should check out Hikari Seaweed Extreme floating pellets. They are 67% seaweed. I've been feeding it to my Quoys and my tangs for months. Beats the heck out of Nori sheets for ease of use.

Interesting! I desprise nori sheets. I'll have to try some of these pellets. Happen to know where I can find the ingredients list?

There is a Quoyi male coming up for sale on DD today, thought I would mention this since I'm not in a position to get one at the moment. Whoever ends up buying him please post some pics when you get him!

Ooo, dinky little guy... not in love with the slightly sunken in stomach either. get that fish dewormed and fed ASAP!

DD has them grossly overpriced IMO, the 6" beauty I missed out on 2 months ago was only 80$ whoever got him some prazipro and quality food will go along way

Maybe, but they are still selling instantly after DD updates. Fish are going to be worth what people will pay for them... I am still smitten with my parrot. He was the most expensive so far but totally worth it.

It would be nice if more would pop up for sale. For whatever reason they aren't collected very much, but with a beautiful the fish is you would think they would be collected more often

So I have located a 6" Quoyi and will be pulling the trigger and not sleeping on this one since 4 months ago I missed out and have been waiting ever since. I know there have been some on DD but I didn't want to spend the 200$ If all goes to plan I will be updating with some pics on Tuesday. Those of you who have one what kind of algae food do you feed yours?

How much are you paying for it? I paid $150 for a ~8-9" specimen from one of the least expensive LFS around me...

Mine was quite carnivorous at first. Still is. But also eats algae, and loves spirulina pellets.
