R.I.P Rob Lower

I am in complete shock to hear this news. Rob actually called me Friday morning and we talked about this past week and his planed trip to Japan and Taiwan next week with his wife. RIP Rob! You will be missed....

this is the website to donate to the fundrasier, it also contains more info on what happen and Rob history as a rare fish collector wetpetshawaii.bbnow.org.

Robert is the reason behind my opening of a reef shop. The quality of Hawaiian fish he caught was simply the best.
He was one of the greatest guys I know, fun loving and what a great sense of humor. He always cracked me up.
I spoke to him numerous times before this last deep water diving trip. He was going for masked angels, bandit angels, liopropoma aurora and other rarities.

Weird thing was he was supposed to call mid way through his trip to update me on what had collected. All I remember saying to myself is that I hope he is doing alright, because he is always very punctual.
Then this horrible news...

You will be missed my friend. God has bigger plans for you.

Your Buddy

Just awful...Don't think I could ever buy a deepwater fish because of this horrible tragedy. Not worth these people risking their lives.

Such a devastating loss of a great, passionate fellow hobbyists and diver. He always brought smiles to my face and laughs all night as we went back and forth about fish, diving, and life itself. I've been off the forums for a while until an email about Rob came through. Devastated, but he will live on in all of us... one love bro.

Very sad news. Rob was such a fun guy, always full of energy and excited to talk about fish. He's going to be missed by a lot of people.

I did not know him personally, though I'm sure we've met online here. Indeed, a tragic loss, as a diver, this is the most horrifying & saddening thing to hear or read..
Oh John (Copps) you are ALMOST right, except on one thing, in Deep Diving the rules are close to those for Cave diving. One thing always: THERE IS NO MARGIN FOR ERROR.
Condolences to his friends & certainly family!

Sincerely,
Matthew
