r/o di unit

I attempted to set up my unit tonight and there was a major leak where the black tubing entered the wastewater "cartridge". That is the only connection where there is not a little blue plastic clamp type thing that is open on one side and slips over the end of the wastewater cartridge and surrounds where the black tubing enters the cartridge. Anyone have any idea where I might get another one of these. It was missing. I got this as a doorprize and the box was already open. TIA Vicki

Those are locks to prevent someone from accidentally pulling the tube out, but are usually not necessary. You can get some quick disconnect fittings and parts at Lowe's. They are in the plumbing section.

Thanks Richard. Then why would it be leaking at the wastewater cartridge where the tubing enters the cartridge? Anything I should check?? TIA>

Mine did that too at first, but I held the tubing and made sure it was pushed all the way into the cartridge, and it was fine after that.

Thanks everyone. Apparently I did not have it shoved all the way in. When I did that, it worked like a charm!! Oh how my husband loves all my new filters and tubing filling his small bathroom!! I will be in big trouble if he gets up at night and falls over it in the dark. I am setting the bucket I am filling in the shower stall in case it runs over, at least until I see exactly how much it is going to make.

Filling in the shower stall or better yet, using an auto shutoff valve is a good idea, even if you know how much it is going to make. Also make sure the product and waste lines are securely attached to the reservoir and drain; they have a habit of falling out and flooding water everywhere.

Thanks. Now I am having problem with a leak at the faucet. With the metal adaptor, water runs not where it screws onto the faucet, but down lower on the metal part. On the part that appears loose and you can not tighten up. No leakage when I use the black plastic adaptor except at the base of the faucet. I have to place a towel it to dam up the water and redirect into the sink instead of off the side of the vanity and in the floor.
