Rabbitfish/Foxface Owners, POST HERE!!!!!

Tom-I haven't been feeding it Nori, cause I didn't think it was that necessary because he was regularly eating. But if his condition doesn't improve I'll probably take your advice and feed him it.

No offense but why on earth would you wait to put 50 cents worth of nori in your tank? Your rabbit is obviously skinny. Put in some nori now and then wait and observe. Good luck.

I've had this scribbled for about two years and is almost as long as my hand!

Here's mine. Very friendly ... to me. Hides when strangers are around. Well behaved and never has bothered any of the coral in my tanks.

Question about my decorated rabbitfish, when my lights dim to sunset or at sunrise all over his body there are brown patches? Is this normal? Or his he having a reaction to all my mushroom flowers and kenya trees he ate in 3 days? He is about 3" long (guess he is a juenville)? Once the full lights come on his colors return to normal.

So far mine has eaten:

Mushroom flowers (with the base as well)
Kenya trees
Zoa's
And he is nipping at sponges.

I feed him 2 twice a day to boot.

thanks

My new S. magnificus is in his final home. He found where my cleaner goby lives and likes to do this

So far he loves to eat everything I feed except nori. He loves these spirulina flakes I got and will nibble them out of my fingers.

The mags are just awesome. Some great pics here. I ended up getting a one spot because of my tank size. Will get some pics up soon.

My Mag Foxface. Had im for years and one of the few survivors of my power outage last August. He is a little more shy since some of the other large fish and tang are gone.

Had my Foxface for about a year now, but he's not nearly as yellow as some of the photos here, or as yellow as when I bought him...

He eats like a pig, is perfectly healthy, just not that yellow I guess?

I feed him Rod's Food, flakes, and seaweed stuff.
Rod's has
Shrimp, Scallop, Oyster, Clam, Squid, Octopus, Perch, Green Nori (porphyra sp), Red unroasted nori (porphyra sp) Mysis, Krill, Pacific plankton (Euphausia sp.) Brine shrimp, Frozen red cyclops, Fish eggs, Oyster eggs, Golden pearls (all sizes), Broccoli, carrot, Garlic, Selco, Astaxanthin (Haematococcus pluvialis), Beta-meal (Dunalliella Salina), Freshly harvested rotifers, freshly hatched baby brine shrimp.

Here are my two. They are NOT friends, the smaller one harasses the big one. Sorry for the giant size - it was before I knew how to limit photobucket display sizes.

I dunno what's up with mine, but mine will stay on the back glass in the tank, I'm not sure what happened. He looks fine, and eats well. All my parameters are up to par, and none of the fish bother him. Not sure what's up >_>

7 months, he was fine until recently, I completely re-arragned my rockwork, and changed around stocking a good bit about a month ago.

Does anyone know of if a one spot foxface can be housed in a 40 Gallon tank if small, plan on moving and getting a larger tank within 2 years? If not could someone recommend a foxface or rabbit fish species that can be kept in a smaller tank? Will be housing a pair of clownfish, firefish, inverts, and would like to do corals.
