Rabbitfish Foxface Reefsafe??

I have SPS, Zoos, Rics and Shrooms. I have hair algae that my Yellow tang is not damaging. I want to put a foxface in there but want to know if anyone had any success with them in a reef tank similiar to mine and if they did help with the hair algae. I would hate for it to stat munching on my zoos, rics and sps.

Thanks

I have a 92g with shrooms, rics, and zoos. I had a problem with macro algea growing on some rocks and hair algea growing on power heads and rocks. I added a silver foxface and he ate every piece of algea in tank in a matter of 2 weeks. He has never touched any corals. A great fish IMO.

Mine took after my frogspawn when he ran out of caulerpa. [It's green.]

My current solution is a large hairy pincushion urchin, red and white stripe, which will clean rock and which is manuvering his huge self in and out among my sps and lps with amazing delicacy. I'm quite impressed with him. He's way easier to catch than a venomous rabbit, and he doesn't get ich.

Urchins knock expensive SPS to sandbed, and hit the same place over and over again, they also push over rocks ...

My foxface isn't very reefsafe loves munching on zoas but he did learn this behaviour from my regal angel, other people have never had any problems

I've had my Foxface Lo for about 1-1/2 years with now problems. He's been in with Zoa's, Yellow Polyps, Mushrooms, Xenia, Hammer, Frogspawn, Torch, Blastos, Montipora Digi., Montipora Cap., Acropora, Finger Leather, Kenya Tree and a Crocea Clam and never bothered anything. I believe they are mostly reef safe with the rare exception. But that is just my opinion. He is my 2nd one and neither bothered anything. HTH
