racemosa or not?

Two weeks ago I suddenly started having some macroalgae appear after 6 months since setting up the tank. It has petals like one-leaf clover, which are thin and not fleshy like most picture of racemosa show. The "petals at first looked like some halimeda I had growing before, but they come off runners instead of in clusters like halimeda seems to. Anyone have an idea what type of Caulerpa this is?

I have had racemosa for two years. Recently, I have had that type of caulerpa show up in a different part of the tank. It grew out of a rock that has never had caulerpa on it. I think it is either a "new" type of caulerpa or a morph of racemosa. Very interesting.

so your new caulerpa has thinner "petals" than your established racemosa, then? I don't know if you are lucky, but you seem to have an internal standard in your tank to compare to.
