racoon butterfly and ricordia/mushrooms

Just saw a tank the other day with a mushroom/ricordia tank. To my surprise, there was also a racoon butterfly in the tank. According to the keeper, he's had the butterfly in the tank for quiet some time now, has not touched the corals. Anyone else have a similar experience? I thought these fish ate everything in the tank.

they usually do but all fish are individuals and have different personalities

Amen to that. However, I have, in one of my tanks, a raccoon "employed" just for this purpose. I move live rock in, he (and a Kleins) clean it, then I move it out. My own little "wet cleaner".

Did yours eat mushrooms as well? I wonder whether they are somewhat immune to fish, now that I think of it, don't recall having seen any of my mushrooms bothered by any fish.

You know, a "mushrooms-with-several-not-remotely-reef-safe-butterflies" tank would be kind of a cool tank.

yeah, I was thinking the same thing, you could keep several auriga or racoon butterflys in a tank full of mushrooms, that would be an interesting tank!!

I am seriously thinking of setting up a mishroom-only-and-butterfly-tank, think a tank with different colored mushrooms and auriga, racoon, and heniochus butterflys will look cool.
