radion gen 2 fan

so im pretty sure my radion gen 2 fan is shorting out my light and turning it off. took the light apart and when I unplug the fan and turn the light on it stays on. Ive been searching for a gen 2 fan all over the internet and cant find them anywhere. does anyone know if the gen 3 fan will work with a gen 2??

Got a picture of the fan showing the label/part number on it?
Or did they remove that already..

I'm assuming they are just using an off the shelf fan.. can you snap a pic/measure its dimensions and get a voltage reading off the plug if you want to identify a replacement if there is no label on it..

no label at all. the plug looked the exact same from gen 2 to 3. ill have to completely take the fan out to see if the label is on the other side

There's usually a label on the one side of the fan. Usually a circular sticker in the middle. It should be just a standard 12v fan. If there is three wires going to it then it will be a variable speed fan (which I think they are) just measure the size and thickness and ebay it. You might have to cut and join the cables or put your own plugs on it if they're not the same but that's easy enough. Red wire will be positive. Black negative and yellow or white speed control.

The gen two is just a regular two wire set up. the one I got off ebay for the gen 3 was also just a two. so hopefully this works.

got the gen3 fan in the mail today... plugged it in, turned the light on and it stayed on. phew
