I want to switch to Radions. I currently have a 265 reef with SPS, LPS and some zoos. Currently i have MH'srunning with radium bulbs. Part of my issues is I have 2 braces that divide the tank into three sections. How many radions would i need?
Read through the forum and you'll find the same question asked many times over. For starters we need to know the size and depth of your tank. But judging just by gals alone I'm going to go ahead and say you'll need 2 Pros to light it.
The radions are generally configured to cover a 24" square. For your tank, I would recommend that you would need to buy 3 radions to have decent coverage. It may not cover glass to glass though. Maybe with the wide lenses you could get better coverage. That is a hard sized tank to light, especially with braces HTH
Just purchased 3 gen 2 Radions to replace my 3 400 watt metal halides. With 20k radiums. Hopefully will cover my 300 gallon deep dimension tank. If not I can always add more. My local store has gone to all LEDs on their display tanks and the corals are doing well.
