Radion Powered SPS Nanocube

ange062: I read somewhere that the Radion is supposed to be a close copy of the Radium spectrum...my questions to you is, have you used 400w or 250w Radiums before, and does the appearance resemble the Radium colour? I know from reading Sanjays new article that the spectrum is fairly close to a Radium, though its missing the 420-400nm range.

My ultimate dream LED light unit would be one that mimics the Radium 20K and VHO Actinic spectrum...the first LED manufacturer to come up with that would have something awesome to offer the hobby. :D

WOW, that is one nice pair of clowns you have there. I got dibs on a pair of their babies lol

Thanks!! I'll add you to the waiting list... ;)

nice growth ange .. i think within 6 months you need a new tank .. :D

Or just start a business fragging!! :) Thanks lilopop!

+1 on both the growth and bigger tank...looking great.

I have not used the Radiums, so can't really comment sorry. :( I've read sanjay's article as well, but not too worried about the "lost" 400-420nm as my growth and colors are great after over 5-mo of using the Radion.

Great looking tank..What settings do you have your MP10 on? I have a JBJ 24 with sps and a MP10 set on reef crest on 100% Through my apex.

Thanks Wyatt!! MP10 is on reefcrest at 80%. I switch to NTM every couple of days overnight to stir things up a little.

If any of those are tabling across, glue one of them to the back wall of the tank.

Not a bad idea!!

very nice.. i wish i could keep my sps's that nice.

Thanks mos!

Kh 8.5, CA 440, Mg 1400, Ph 8.2, Sg 1.026, temp 77, no3/ph4 0. All held very constant through automation.

Im also a heavy feeder and dose AA's daily.

Wow, super tank. I am amazed at how high you have your radions set on this tank. I am doing a IM 16g nano with SPS and when I ramped the lights up to 35 percent my ORA green birdsnest bleached out on me. I had to dial them back down and am going to try ramping up again a few weeks. When you were ramping up, how many percent did you do at a time?

Thanks! Take your time, livestock is especially sensitive to LED when the switch is first made (or the livestock first transferred from under a different light source). After my initial bleach and consequent decrease to 25%, it took me 5-mo to work up to 70%.

Try a few percent once a week, maybe 3%. You will eventually hit a critical threshold where you will see the beginning of another bleach, stop there and switch to every 2-3 weeks. Just suggestions from my experience, HTH!!
