radium 20k question

I just switched my lighting over to 250 watt 20k radium SE bulbs. My ballast is a PFO HQI , so i am over-riding these bulbs.

The question is, im worried about growth, so will these still provide "adequate" growth for my sps. hey look amazing under those bulbs though for sure!

A PFO HQI doesn't overdrive the 250 radium bulb. The 250 radium is meant to run on that ballast...you're actually driving it to specs.

TONS of people grow SPS under radium bulbs, so light shouldn't be an issue.

I have seen people here and some local reefers who ran 20k Radiums and when I did have a chance to set up my cube thats the lights I bought and quite frankly I like it better than the helios... Helios is not bad at all but seeing how my corals react to both bulbs , I get more on the Radiums.. Good luck

I hear conflicting things...10K for SPS growth. Then I hear of other reefers, and see the tanks with 20K radiums with incredible growth.

I'm tempted to switch out my 14k phoenix next time with 20k radiums (3 x 250's) just to see for myself.

Which was a bluer bulb? the Radium or helios?

I am considering a purchase next april for 2 150de Radiums after reading all the good reviews, but it would be great to see some SPS pictures under this light. Maybe some of you can posts some as proof?
