Rainbow Acans

Just got word Jerry got some nice rainbow acans in at the Coral Cave in Mercer PA. Recently I have been letting my nutrients come up some, nitrates up form barely detectable to 5 to 10 and Po4 running .05 - .10 which is up from my usual 0.00 and my zoa's and acans have never looked better.

lol
I just keep buying more cleaner crews.
I am trying it, I have to say i'm not seeing good returns on the sticks though.

Ya Ted, I'm sorry I missed it myself.
As I told you many issues going on in my life now, and with all this rain business is not slowing down at all. How often do you see the landscapes look this green in late July & early August.
Also in a couple weeks the Mrs & I are going to Iceland for 16 days (picture taking time!) could use a restful vacation at this time! Don't think it will be restful with me chasing the Aurora Borealis around in the middle of the night & then trying to get sunrise & sunset pictures.
All of this gives you a little insight on my nutrients getting higher, LOL.

Kevin, we should talk before you go. There are some beautiful landscapes up there. What are you taking for pics?

Lets talk!
I got my Nikon D800, 14-24 2.8, 24-70 2.8 & 70-200 2.8.
My tripod, which is carbon fiber & cable release and ect, ect.
I was looking at the D810, someone told me it had an articulating LCD screen, I did not see that. In reading I heard they are coming out with a D820, that may have the tilt screen??
Have you been over there?

A guy I know has been there, (Tom Ang), but I've never been. He posts a lot of stuff on the web, so I'll dig and see if I can find something. I have no idea on either the 810 or if an 820 is coming out. I'm looking at a d500, (yes, it has an articulating screen), but I picked up a new 300s just before it came out. Thinking more about Nikon's 200-500 before another body. Heck, I have three now. If you're gonna be hiking around a nifty 50 might be nice to carry. Very light and can be had for a song. I love my 24-70, but it can get heavy after a bit.

Hey Kevin. I haven't heard from Tom. He must be shooting somewhere. I looked around but couldn't find any pics, but I know he's been there. He might have been shooting for someone and they may not have published them yet. Sorry.

Anywho, thanks for the kick in the behind. I really haven't done much shooting lately. Three months ago, the guy I work with had a back operation. He's in therapy now, but I've been doing both jobs, so not much free time. Last night I started looking at other bodies. Found a D700 on CL for a steal. Got it this morning. I'm looking forward to getting out again, though I still don't know how soon it may be. Post some pics when you get back. Let us enjoy some of your trip!!!

Your welcome, I have checked the photography thread and have not seen the weekly photo contest you run (which I have never submitted) SORRY, but i do look!
You know I will post up some shots. Your a good person & I appreciate it!!
AND I have them gosh darn sticks for you, if your still looking.

Yea, I'll still be looking. Once I can get a break from work and get the apartment redone. Once fall hits, I'll try to get the photo thing going again. Traffic is really slow this time of year.

Kevin, just got this from B&H.

Happy Birthday Nikon! Today marks the 100th anniversary of one of the most important and celebrated companies in the photography industry. Even if you are a Canon or Sony shooter, of which I have been both, Nikon deserves a great deal of respect for its pioneering development of top-tier imaging equipment over the past century. Established in 1917, Nikon began creating advanced optical engineering techniques and then, over time, jumped into cameras and quickly became one of the top manufacturers in the field. And even though today marks Nikon’s own birthday, the company decided to give us a present too, with the announcement of the first details on the next FX-format DSLR to join their ranks: the D850.
Perhaps going a bit far with its marketing and using phrases like “Hercules rising,” Nikon is making some bold statements about the upcoming D850. The next-generation camera promises high resolution and high speed and, though the press releases are light on actual specs, one eyebrow-raising feature did get highlighted in the announcement video: 8K Time-Lapse. This means we will likely see a boost to the resolution with a newly designed sensor, likely pushing 40+ megapixels and vastly improved video performance overall. The sample footage looks spectacular, and if it is any improvement over the already impressive D810, then we can assume that the D850 will be truly remarkable when it comes to image quality.

Higher resolution isn’t the only goal of the D850, however, with the press release promising versatility for multimedia content creators. It even targets landscape, wedding, sports, fashion, and commercial photographers, meaning it should have many features that will make it almost universally appealing to the photographic world. They also make clear that development was guided by the users themselves and that it is packed with new technologies that will make taking pictures a much more enjoyable and rewarding experience. It really does look like Nikon is going to deliver an incredible camera in the D850, and I know I can’t wait to see more details.
Check back soon and often for those details on the D850 DSLR, because we will publish the information right here on Explora, once we have more to share. To read more about the Nikon 100th Anniversary Limited Edition collection, click here.

Thanks Jessie
I did some digging on it today and here is what I found.
