anyone ever keep 1?what do they eat? i feed my other fish mysis and it never seems to like them, i also have cyclope ease and it doesnt eatthat either

It picks through the sand and munches on algae. For the most part, it just forages for its own food and doesn't rely much on the owner.

But it needs very fine and dirty sand: they're not big fish.

I have one that ignores the cyclopeze and mysis. I see it sifting sand and munching green hair algae. Mine still has a slightly shallow stomach after 4 months but is colored up well and is active. It lives in a burrow it dug out under a scallop shell.
I heard they don't do well without some hair algae. Fortunately for me that is not a problem.

i had one and it never ate anything i fed it
it would occasionally take a bite
but then spit it back out

it lived for a while
but i left for vacation and when i came back it was dead

Mine will not take any prepared food at all. It spends it's time sifting through the sand and picking pods off of the live rock.
