Hi!, ive been using turbo calcium the last few days, plus iuse techa and techb to keep alk up and calcium, iwanted to boost calcium a little higher so i used the turbo calcium the last couple of days about a teaspoon, when i test to see calcium level it actually has gone down not up, not sure whether its the testing kit or what, the liquid calcium seems to work better, does nanybody have any theories, thanks!

How were you adding the turbo calcium? Did you just put it straight into the water column, or did you dissolve it and add it as top off?
How soon after adding the calcium, did you test. If to soon, this may sque the results. I would give it a day or so and test it again.
How did you determine how much you were going to add. Here is a good calculator you can use next time.

What kind of test kit do you have?

I found having two calk and alk test kits really help me trust the numbers until I got things sorted out. I use to use Kent's turbo calk and it does work, now use two part DIY. I've also found that with Salfert (sp?) test kit my calc was through the roof and it seemed to reed it was low. I bought the TetraMartin kit and it was very clear that if you put two drops in and the color changes, it's off the charts. Then it recommends using less water to get to the 550-800 range... That was the key for me and it's a problem solved ever since. Good luck.
