Raising Cleaner Shrimp from eggs?

We recently discovered that both our cleaner shrimp seem to have eggs. Their underbellies house a "Mt Dew-green" color eggs.

My wife was wondering if it's possible to raise them after they hatch? As of right now, I'm sure they'll be future food for the coral and fish.

We do have a quarantine/hospital tank that's empty. It doesn't have any special lighting and it's only got PVC pipes for furniture.

However, I'm guessing the babies will probably require quite a bit of care, so is it worth it? What would I need to do?

Thanks!

well, my LFS sells them at $25 a pop, so if you wanna do the math, lets say you get 10 thats around $100 (cant sell them at $25 ea). so pretty much, if you invest $100 in it, you wont gain anything the first batch but the second and third you will start to make money. the baby shrimp will eat algea, so make sure your tank is mature enough to grow algea. yes i would say put them in your QT. make sure all the inlets are covered with foam!

It's possible but it is very difficult/time consuming. Check breedersregistry.org for detailed info. IMO it is not worth the effort

The planktonic stages are sensitive to certain types of light. And by sensitive I mean it will kill them plus any filters etc... will kill them. They need rotifers and other small planktonic types of food. Live rock filter feeders will eat them.

You will need much more than a QT, light and an airstone to rear them.
It is not worth it.
I don't even know what you would need to do. Emulate the open ocean somehow.
