raising the pH level?

Hey guys-

I was wondering if you knew of a good way to raise the pH level without buying the stuff that comes in a bottle. My aquarium has pretty much been stable at 7.9, and has just got out of the nitrogen cycle. Will time or water changes remedy this? Thanks for the help!

7.9 is a good number. I wouldn't add buffers for the purpose of raising ph. The buffers are only a short term temporary fix. If you find that the ph is dropping below 7.8 then you will want to take a look at your aeration/gas exchange.

agreed nothing wrong with 7.9 that is what my reef hangs out at. most tanks with a calcium reactor are a bit low. if yo uare going to grow stonie corals and your ph is low you want to try and keep your cal and alk higher to keep growth rates up.
