So we have had sps tank for about a year and a half but get random tissue losses. Set up is 180 gallon display with 90 gallon sump and 40 gallon frag tank.
With about 250 lbs of rock,
Lighting 8x80 Ati powermodule new bulbs every 6 months,
Flow 2 x mp60's with red dragon 8.2 for return
Skimmer Bubble king supermarine 250
Levels in check with deltec calcium reactor controlled with ph probe and controller. Manually dose mg every few days
Full zeo system
Activated Rox carbon
Reefers best salt from the beginning
We do weekly water changes and regularly dose our zeovit. The levels are very stable and seem to be where they need to be but we will get random coral/tissue losses. Things will be good for weeks/months then lose a few frags or tissue. Some corals i have had from the beginning grew from frags to colonies then overnight they die.
Kh 7.6 hanna
Ca 420 Elos
Mg 1350-1450 Elos
Phosphates 0 Hanna
Ph 8.0 Elos
Question is am i doing something wrong? Using the same salt maybe something is building up that is effecting the tank. Is it from spring run off ?
What really bothers me is people don't talk about this much and if they do they never mention it. How many corals do the best sps keepers loose or am i just doing something wrong? It is just very upsetting to loose coral. Here are some picture of the tank its just frustrating having so much success and then having random issues. I can almost guarantee i have no pests either everything is dipped with coral rx then interceptored for a 6 hrs then into quarantine before being added to the tank.
Thanks
