Random pics

LOL This has turned out to be the Daddy Jax thread !!!

Badass though.... for sure !!

How many ML of each part of Randy's recipe' do you have to use for your tanks needs per day ??

Also, what are you using for an actinic supplement ? the pics look almost like they're taken under a 20K.

I have been using a blueline 14K bulb for a while now, do you feel I'd get better results with the bulb your using ??
I keep losong alot of color in my frags... lighter, and lighter.
They grow nicely, but I REALLY dislike the fading.

I've also recently lowered the lighting from 20" inches above, down to 10". hoping this will color up things a little.
But im actually kinda scared that they'll bleach more !

Thus far its only 250w , thinking of going to 400w, but again, worried about the lightening factor.

Idea's anyone ? Sorry no pics, and sorry about the thread hiking.

~ Tony

No actinics. And like I said before all of the pics were taken under 12k and 10k lighting.

I have found that coral lighting is usually due to low nutrients. What size tank? How many fish? How often do you feed and how often do you do WC's? P04 reactor? Also how much LR and how many snails and what kind?

To answer some more specifics....

Yes Nutrients are totally at zero, as I have a reactor with phosban and sometimes carbon.
And shocking to say, I have yet to start feeding the corals either !! I think im going to get some cyclopeeze, could that be part of the solution ??

75 gal , with a 20 sump... no fish & 10% water change per week.
I have about 60lbs of rock that I've used for the last five years and about 15 Astrea snails & 30 tiny blue hermits.

params ~ Ca. 350ppm ( very low ) Alk ~ 9 - 10 DKH pH ~ 8.2
SG ~ 1.025 Po4 ~ not detectable , No3 ~ Zero
Temp ~ 78 to 80

Thanks for the input folks

Also, Supplementing about 70ml of each of Randy's two part per day, along with a boat load of Kent Turbo Cal.

Can't seem to ever get it to move though ??????

Okay, the first thing is you must have fish!! They are a vital part of the reef. You are using a p04 remover and have nothing to remove. Cyclopeze will not feed your corals imo. There have been countless threads and reports of the need for bioload.

If I could offer any recomendation it would be to get 5-7 Chromis and start feeding those corals!!

Ya know .... I do remember hearing a bit about that, but have yet to do anything about it !!

I think today I will get a few fish, just as you suggested.
I know changes will not start showing for at least a month IMO.
But its really a good idea.

Okay, this is it for a while.
