Random Tenticles on Elegance

Just curious about these "misplaced" tenticles. The Elegance is about 1yr old, and these little guys popped up not that long ago.

Should I be concerned? What exactly is it doing? Any help would be appreciated!

Let's put it in my tank to see if they will go away .

I don't know. Maybe it is meandering? I've never seen anything like it.

Hahaha this is my favorite coral, mutant tenticles and all!

I don't dare say that I only spent $10 for it as it was listed as a "frag" at the LFS.

Oops ;-)


Anyone else have any ideas on why it's growing these?!

I noticed sometimes if they get damaged in a spot like that they grow new tentacles in that spot.

Should I be worried about this then? I never recall seeing any kind of damage on him, but, that doesn't meant it didn't happen. My snails climb and fall all over everything, maybe one fell on the elegance and damaged it then.

I think you may have noticed them not long ago, but they have been growing for some time. The damage may have taken place quite some time ago. I wouldn't worry about it. The wound has healed and the Elegance looks healthy. Now you have one of the rare Elegance corals with tentacles on the oral disk. Enjoy.
