I am looking for a bulk suppler for the Calcium Chloride and Sodium Carbonate that I have ben purchasing from BRS (the shipping into Canada is crazy:hmm5:).

I have found a a local chemical supplier that carries both but they have several different types.

Can anyone recommend which would be closest to the BRS stuff or Randy's recipe?

Calcium Chloride, Dihydrate, Granular

Calcium Chloride, Technical Flake

Calcium Chloride, Anhydrous Granular

Calcium Chloride, dihydrate ACS powder

Calcium Chloride, Dihydrate Powder

Sodium Carbonate, anhydrous Light (Soda Ash)

Sodium Carbonate, anhydrous Dense (Soda Ash)

Thanks,

The dyhydrate is closest to the Dowflake recipe, but anhydrous can be used (just use less).

The ACS grade may be cleaner than the technical (won't be worse; will cost more).

Don't know the real difference between the last two, except it likely relates to the powder density (i.e., air in a cup of solids).
