rare euphyllia shots!

Wow, simply amazing. It's funny how we become so used to seeing a common species in this trade, but this thread really takes me back to the first time I set my eyes on a frogspawn.

Bad phone pics of my orange and dark green. Really want a yellow/gold to go with these two. Green tip frogspawn in the background reflection.

Here is a Purple and Green tipped hammer ( the best looking hammer I have ever seen), I got this FRAG (colony) off of a very nice local reefer that had a huge colony, this one is mostly green tipped but there are a few heads of purple tipped, I also have another frag that is mostly purple, but dont have pics with me at work. Enjoy

Sorry for the bad pictures ( phone )

Here are some of mine... tough to capture the colors in a pic. There's an aussie peach tipped hammer, one with lavender tips and gold tentacles, and a yellow frogspawn.

And my newest solid lime green aussie hammer... it's really interesting that the skeleton is the same shape as a bubble coral!

Thanks! Here's a better shot of it... the skeleton and tentacles almost look like a cross between a wall hammer and a pearl/mini bubble coral.

nice photos. I really like those Euphyllids and used to have a few but got rid of them when working in the tank became impossible to do. I seem to be very sensitive to their stings. My arms would look like they were covered in poison ivy after brushing against them while working in the tank.

Nice corals. Maybe we are luck here in California because most of these are pretty common here.

I had the luck of owning a reef while I lived in California many years ago. I used to be able to go directly to the distributors and get livestock the day after it came in.

Here in NC the LPS pickings are very slim. :thumbdown

Most of my LPS, inlcuding most of my Euphyllia, are from AquaSD, who sells online all the time. But others are from etailers like LiveAquaria. I would think that nowadays, with so many etailers, one's location shouldn't make a difference.

I don't see anything that's rare now..........you can get any of these almost anywhere on line like Peter mentioned. I have a good selection here in Ohio locally too.

I have one that I bought locally that the retailer called peach. It has light green tinted stems & the tips are pinkish. The heads are huge close to 3/4" and look like blown up Fred Flintsone mallets. Does anyone else have anything like it? I'll try to post a pic later.
